Bio
Jimena Ángel (b. United States, of Colombian heritage) is an abstract and intuitive artist living and working between Atlanta and Medellín. Her work emerges from a deeply personal practice that weaves gesture, color, word, and energy to create layered paintings that function as emotional maps and portals for transformation.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kennesaw State University (Atlanta, GA), and has spent over a decade developing a unique visual language rooted in intuitive mark-making, ritual, and energetic presence. Her process is both meditative and expressive—guided by movement, memory, and emotional resonance. Each piece is composed through layers of pigment, hidden words, spontaneous gestures, and textured surfaces that unfold over time.
More than visual objects, her paintings invite a sensory and emotional experience. They ask the viewer to pause, feel, and discover what lies between the visible and the invisible. For Jimena, each work is a painted poem—a living trace of a transformative process, emerging from intuition and ritual, and intended to connect deeply with those who witness it.
